Scorching week ahead with temperatures reaching 43°C: Murcia weather forecast July 6-9
Temperatures are forecast to climb throughout the week, reaching their highest levels on Wednesday and Thursday in parts of the Region

Until now, July in the Region of Murcia has followed a pretty familiar pattern, with hot but generally manageable temperatures across the Region.
However, temperatures are set to climb higher over the coming days, with weather alerts in place across much of Spain, including parts of the Murcia Region. Forecasts suggest inland areas could see temperatures rise into the low 40s.
With the mercury continuing to rise throughout the week, here's a day-by-day look at what you can expect from July 6 to July 9.
Monday July 6
The week gets off to a hot start across the Region of Murcia, although temperatures will still be fairly typical for early July.
Most areas can expect plenty of sunshine and clear skies throughout the day. Some cloud may build over the north-western mountain areas during the afternoon, where there is a small chance of an isolated thunderstorm.
Temperatures are forecast to reach 38°C in Murcia city, while Caravaca de la Cruz and Yecla are expected to hit 37°C. Lorca should see a high of 36°C, while Cartagena and Mar Menor areas remain a little cooler at around 33°C thanks to their coastal location.
Tuesday July 7
Things start to heat up on Tuesday, particularly inland, where temperatures will move closer to the 40°C mark.
Forecasters are warning of significantly high temperatures across large parts of the region, with Murcia city expected to reach 41°C. Elsewhere, Caravaca de la Cruz and Yecla could see highs of 39°C, while Lorca is forecast to reach 38°C. Along the coast, Cartagena is expected to remain more manageable at around 34°C.
Skies should stay largely clear throughout the day, although some cloud may develop inland during the afternoon.
Wednesday July 8
Wednesday is set to be the hottest day of the week so far, with temperatures climbing even higher across much of the Region.
Inland areas are expected to bear the brunt of the heat, with Murcia city forecast to reach a sweltering 43°C. Caravaca de la Cruz, Lorca and Yecla are all expected to hit 40°C, while Cartagena should see highs of around 35°C.
As on previous days, sunshine will dominate across most of the Region. Some cloud may develop inland again later in the day, where an isolated thunderstorm cannot be ruled out.
Thursday July 9
Thursday looks set to bring another day of intense summer heat, with temperatures remaining well above normal for many inland areas.
While there may be a slight dip in some places, Murcia city is still forecast to reach 41°C. Caravaca de la Cruz and Lorca are expected to see highs of 39°C, while Yecla could reach 38°C. Cartagena is once again forecast to remain cooler at around 35°C, although it will still feel very warm.
Skies are expected to stay clear across most of the region, rounding off what looks set to be a particularly hot few days for Murcia.
While summer in Murcia is no stranger to high temperatures, this week's forecast is likely to leave many people reaching for the shade, especially inland where temperatures are expected to top 40°C on several days.
Coastal areas will avoid the highest temperatures, although increased humidity along the coast will make it feel warmer and may bring some particularly sticky nights. Wherever you are in the Region, it looks like plenty of water, sunscreen and a bit of air conditioning will come in handy over the next few days.
Min and max temperatures in the Murcia Region this week:

Monday July 6: Min 18ºC, Max 38ºC
Tuesday July 7: Min 19ºC, Max 41ºC
Wednesday July 8: Min 20ºC, Max 43ºC
Thursday July 9: Min 21ºC, Max 42ºC
