Second brawl on Scotland to Spain flight in less than a week
A terrifying fight broke between several Ryanair passengers on a flight to Tenerife
Passengers on a Ryanair flight from Edinburgh to Tenerife were left terrified and in tears after a group of rowdy travellers started fighting and throwing bottles on board. The altercation reportedly broke out just two hours into the flight, leaving children scared and crying. Fellow passengers described the scene as "chaotic" and "the scariest flight I've ever been on."
According to eyewitnesses, the group of disruptive passengers had been causing trouble throughout the flight, but things quickly escalated when they began physically attacking each other. Bottles were thrown, and witnesses claimed that women were nearly injured in the melee. One passenger said that the group was "out of control."
The pilot was forced to divert the plane and make an emergency landing in Porto, Portugal, where Spanish police were waiting to remove the disruptive passengers.
Sitting on the tarmac, one holidaymaker took to social media to describe the unfolding scene:
"Big group on flight, fights broke out, bottles throw, women almost injured. Get this little s**t off the plane… kids crying, everyone in bits….
"Currently waiting for the police to take some people off the plane then hopefully get to Tenerife.
"Luckily everyone is okay at the moment."
Ryanair confirmed that the passengers were indeed removed, and the plane continued its journey to Tenerife, arriving around two hours later than originally scheduled.
This incident comes just six days after another brawl occurred on the same flight route, involving drunk passengers who were filmed fighting each other. The ruckus began between two men, reportedly brothers, but a woman quickly joined the fray, lunging at the pair and shouting obscenities.
Despite efforts by airline staff to restore order, the fighting continued until the plane landed in Tenerife, where the two men were promptly arrested.
