September 27 free boat and train rides in Cartagena for World Tourism Day
Discover Cartagena from the sea and by land with free guided tours to celebrate World Tourism Day

Two special attractions are on offer. First, there are boat trips with a guided tour of Fuerte de Navidad, a 19th-century coastal fort that once protected the entrance to Cartagena’s harbour. The tours last around an hour and a half, with departures at 11.00 am, 1.00 pm, and 4.30 pm.
Secondly, hop on the tourist train for a 35-minute ride around Cartagena’s historic centre. Starting from the Mare Nostrum restaurant, the train visits main streets and landmark monuments while a guide shares insights into the city’s rich history. The train departs three times in the morning at 9.00 am, 9.40 am, and 10.15 am.
Both activities are free to join but places are limited. Advance booking is required and opened on Thursday September 25 from 9.00 am via the official tourism website.
Whether by sea or land, this is a great chance to see some of Cartagena’s hidden treasures and learn about its fascinating past - all without spending a céntimo.
Plan your visit and make the most of World Tourism Day with these enjoyable guided experiences in the heart of Cartagena.
