September 27 Free tourist boat and train tours in Cartagena
The port city of Cartagena celebrates World Tourism Day!
To coincide with World Tourism Day the tourist authorities in the city of Cartagena are offering free tourist train and boat tours on Saturday 27th September.
The boat tours start from the seafront in the city centre and include a visit to the 19th-century fortress of the Fuerte de Navidad, which protected the entrance to the harbour, with guides explaining the history and strategic importance of this military establishment. The tours begin at 11.00, 13.00 and 16.30, lasting approximately 90 minutes.
As for the tourist train, it will be following a route through the historic centre of Cartagena at 9.00, 9.40 and 10.15, setting out from the Mare Nostrum restaurant and following some of the main streets in the old city centre as well as passing the main monuments and most important buildings on Calle Real and in the Plaza de España as well as the Basílica de la Caridad. Each trip lasts around 35 minutes.
