ARCHIVED - Seville police evict 700 people following bar raids
One of the bars in the Andalucía province was caught selling alcohol to minors
Local Police in the province of Seville in Andalucía were forced to evict 700 people from five bars and clubs in the early hours of Sunday morning, October 10, in addition to shutting down one premises that was found to be selling alcohol to underage customers. According to Emergencias Sevilla, a total of 15 bars were inspected.
Shortly after midnight, officers arrived at an establishment on Calle Javier Lasso de la Vega and threw out 55 people for breaching Covid-19 safety regulations by not social distancing or wearing masks. A couple of hours later, at around 2.45am, the exact same rule breaking was observed on three outdoor terraces on Avenida de la Innovación with the addition of clientele sharing hookahs. Some 500 people were evicted and the police ordered all three bars to close for the night.
On the same night, officers inspected a pub on Calle Ayamonte and discovered that the staff were selling vodka and whiskey to minors, all of whom were around 16 years old. In total, 145 people were thrown out and the bar was shut down.
