Showers and thunderstorms are back: Murcia weather forecast Aug 29-Sept 1
The storms won’t hit the Region of Murcia with too much force, but inland areas are still in for a wet weekend
Weather outlook this Sunday
Much of Spain is on alert for a DANA (isolated depression at high levels) over the next few days, as several weather fronts moving from the southwest to northeast will result in heavy rain, thunderstorms and hail showers. Although the storms will hit Andalucía with force, the worst of the weather should remain at bay right at the Murcia border.
Even though the fronts won’t actually reach the Region, their proximity means that the weather will worsen, and while no alerts have been issued, inland municipalities can expect plenty of rain over the weekend, and it will be showery along the coast.
Thursday August 29
Lots of cloudy intervals are forecast on Thursday with the possibility of light and occasional rainfall inland, particularly in the northwest. As the air will be heavy with Saharan dust, there’s a good chance of muddy rain anywhere the showers fall all weekend.
Temperatures will remain largely unchanged and fall a bit inland. The easterly winds will be light in general but more blustery along the coast.
Friday August 30
The forecast for Friday is almost identical to the day before, with the odd shower still confined to inland municipalities, where daytime temperatures will drop again.
Saturday August 31
Partly cloudy skies across the board on Saturday and the light rain in central Murcia could well develop into thunderstorms in the afternoon. The mercury will start to climb throughout the Region, exceeding 30ºC in most parts.
Sunday September 1
The impact of the DANA will lessen on Sunday, but some intense stormy episodes are still likely in Murcia during the afternoon, with far lighter showers forecast in coastal areas. Temperatures won’t change much, although the mercury could dip a little on the coast.

- Friday August 30: Min 17ºC; Max 32ºC
- Saturday August 31: Min 16ºC; Max 34ºC
- Sunday September 1: Min 17ºC; Max 36ºC
