Spain brings back grants for electric cars to boost sales
The Moves III plan offers money towards the purchase of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles

After scrapping the initiative at the start of the year, the Spanish government has decided to reactivate the Moves III programme in a desperate attempt to boost floundering electric car sales.
The scheme has a budget of €400 million and will offer motorists a subsidy of up to €7,000 when they purchase an electric or plug-in hybrid car. There is a stipulation that the vehicle must cost no more than €45,000 before tax.
And the best part is that the payment will be retroactive, so anyone who has bought an electric or hybrid model since January 1 will be eligible for the grant.
