Spain weekly weather forecast July 28-31
Much of the country will remain hot and dry this week, though some areas will see rain, storms and weather alerts

Spain will experience a mixed bag of weather this week, with much of the country under stable, anticyclonic conditions but several regions affected by high temperatures, strong winds, rain and coastal swell.
On Monday July 28, 16 provinces are under alert from Aemet. In the south, Andalucía and Castilla-La Mancha will see some of the highest temperatures, with yellow warnings in place for areas including Granada, Jaén, Sevilla, Ciudad Real and Badajoz. Córdoba is under an orange alert, with forecasts predicting highs of up to 40ºC.
In contrast, Catalonia is expecting heavy rainfall and storms, particularly in Barcelona and Tarragona, where winds may reach 80 km/h. Girona, Castellón and parts of the Balearic Islands, including Mallorca and Menorca, are also under warnings for coastal swell and strong winds.

From Tuesday 29 onwards, the weather will remain largely stable across the mainland, though conditions will vary by region. Clear or partly cloudy skies are expected for most of Spain, although the Cantabrian coast, parts of the Balearic Islands, eastern Catalonia and some inland southeastern areas could see occasional rainfall.
Isolated dry storms may develop in southern inland regions by afternoon. Temperatures will fall slightly across the southern half of the country, particularly in the Costa del Sol, but highs of 34-36ºC are still likely in Badajoz, northern Andalucía and Gran Canaria. Overnight lows will stay warm in coastal and inland southern areas, with tropical nights above 25ºC expected in parts of the southeast and the Canary Islands.

Wednesday’s outlook continues the pattern of warm, generally dry weather, with occasional instability in the east and southeast. Rainfall remains a possibility in the Cantabrian region, eastern Catalonia and the Balearics, with a slight risk of heavier downpours in those areas. In Andalucía, afternoon storms could affect mountain areas.
Temperatures will rise again across parts of the northern interior, southeast and Balearics, with highs once again exceeding 36ºC in Extremadura and inland parts of western Andalucía. Winds will vary across the country, with strong easterlies in the Strait of Gibraltar and northern Mediterranean coasts, and moderate trade winds in the Canary Islands.

By Thursday July 31, most of Spain will enjoy settled conditions, though cloud development and afternoon storms are possible in central and southern inland areas. Isolated showers may also occur along the Mediterranean coast and in eastern Cantabria.
Maximum temperatures are expected to rise slightly, particularly in northern inland areas and the Balearics, remaining above 34ºC in much of southwestern Spain. Winds will continue to be a feature in the south and Mediterranean areas, especially in the Strait of Gibraltar, where strong gusts are likely. Moderate northerly winds will persist in the Canary Islands.
