Spain's secret Notting Hill you didn't know existed
In Santa Cruz, a pastel paradise that’s stealing hearts, and social media

This picturesque stretch is ideal for a morning stroll or snapping a few photos, though don’t be surprised if you see people pausing to admire the view or lining up a carefully framed shot for their latest holiday album or the perfect social media post.
TikToker @carlaotaola_ even declared it “without a doubt the best spot in Tenerife,” and the sweet visuals have quickly made it a go to for photographers, content creators and curious wanderers. “Girls from Tenerife who are as obsessed with taking photos and creating content as I am, I’ve found your paradise,” says Carlota, in her recent TikTok video.
The street owes its name to Enrique Wolfson Osipoff, a Russian-Jewish businessman and politician who arrived in Tenerife in the late 19th century. Originally emigrating to England to escape persecution, he later travelled through South Africa before settling in Santa Cruz, where he decided to stay for good.
He became a key figure in the city’s development, founding the Tenerife Gas & Coke Co., the city´s first gas company, and helping to expand Puerto de La Luz, which was vital to the island’s economic growth. His name lives on in the street, a reminder of a period of expansion and modernisation in the capital.
But (and there’s always a but) this isn’t a pedestrian-only zone. If you’re hoping for an uninterrupted view or a car-free photo, you might need to arrive early or be prepared to wait patiently between passing vehicles.
Still, if you’re looking for a colourful surprise in the heart of Santa Cruz, this pastel-toned street delivers a dose of British charm with a Tenerife twist.
