Spangles Ladies Harmony Chorus continues to sparkle with Murcia concerts and workshops
The Costa Cálida four-part harmony chorus is looking for a Musical Director and new members
Since their busy Christmas season, the ever-popular Spangles Ladies’ Harmony Chorus has concentrated on updating their repertoire with new songs and welcoming new members, while keeping their performance skills honed.
The Ladies recently gave a concert at the Centro Cultural in Sucina on Saturday May 6.
“We were honoured to be invited by the Cantos del Corazón group to sing with them,” said Lyn Baines, Chorus Manager. “We thoroughly enjoyed hearing local traditional songs and performing to a new, appreciative audience. We’re delighted to have been invited to perform alongside them again later this year.”
They were also back by popular demand at the Escuela Official de Idiomas language school in San Javier last week, to run another a cappella workshop for the language students.
“Shyness, and hiding at the back of the audience, was not an option,” they commented. “Soon everyone was joining in some fun vocal exercises. Inhibitions disappeared and everyone had a super time.”

Spangles is a ladies’ a cappella chorus, singing in four-part harmony. They rehearse every Thursday, from 10.30am to 1pm at Centro Municipal Las Claras, Calle Helena, Los Narejos, Los Alcázares and visitors are always welcome.

Spangles are a Ladies’ Barbershop Harmony Chorus. They meet at the Las Claras Centre in Los Narejos, Los Alcázares, Murcia every Thursday, from 10.30am to 1.00pm.
Spangles was formed in December 2004 and is still going strong. They are always happy to welcome new members, so why not go along and see if you would like to join them?
Spangles are three times Gold Medal Barbershop Chorus Champions of Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands. They sing four part harmony and they are all passionate about what they do. They are founder members of the Spanish Association of Barbershop Singers (SABS).
