Storms and temperature drops this weekend: Spain weather forecast July 24-28
The mercury could plummet by as much as 10ºC in parts of Spain before shooting up again over the weekend

Weather alerts across Spain on Thursday July 24
The low-pressure system affecting Spain since Wednesday will continue to cause instability this Thursday July 24 in the north and east of the country, as well as in the Balearic Islands, with cloudy or overcast skies, heavy rain and thunderstorms forecast. This unsettled weather will also be accompanied by a drop in temperatures, with thermometers registering up to 10ºC degrees below normal for this time of year in some areas.
The situation will continue until Friday July 25, when the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) expects the low-pressure system to move away.
Thursday July 24

Orange warnings, representing a serious risk, have been activated in the Balearic Islands, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia and the Region of Murcia for torrential rain, potential flooding and dangerous sea conditions. The alert remains at yellow level in the Valencian Community and Andalucía.
It’s a game of two halves though and the rest of the country can expect a dry and sunny Thursday. Day-time temperatures will drop noticeably in most parts with the exception of the extreme west of Spain.
Friday July 25

Thankfully the weather warnings have been downgraded from orange but Andalucía, the Balearic Islands, the Region of Murcia, Catalonia and the Valencian Community all remain on alert for torrential downpours and thunderstorms until the afternoon.
But as the hours go by, the low pressure system should start to move away towards the Mediterranean, bringing a return of stability.
Saturday July 26

The weather could still be a bit unsettled in the northeast of Spain and along the northern Mediterranean coast, where cloudy skies and scattered showers are forecast until evening. The rest of the country can look forward to slightly cloudy or clear skies.
Day-time temperatures will take an upswing across the country, easily exceeding 34ºC or 36ºC in the southwest. The good news is that night-time temperatures should dip a little, making sleep more comfortable.
A yellow alert for rough seas remains in place in Andalucía.
Sunday July 27

All of the weather alerts have been lifted for Sunday, when a warm air mass will sweep the country and result in a typical summery day.
Day-time temperatures will rise sharply, particularly in the extreme south and southeast of Spain and on the Canary Islands. Lows will also increase, remaining above 20ºC to 22ºC in the Mediterranean.
Monday July 28

Looking ahead to next week, Monday should bring more typical mid-summer weather, with bright, sunny skies forecast for the most part. In general, highs of around 33°C are expected but southern Spain could be even hotter, with temperatures reaching into the mid to high-30s.
