Strange plane contrail shapes spotted in the sky over Murcia and Alicante
Why were there curly white lines going in circles in the sky yesterday?
People on the Costa Cálida and Costa Blanca in Spain were baffled yesterday by a curious long and winding line of what appeared to be white smoke going around in circles in the sky.
The strange looping shapes could be seen almost all over the Region of Murcia and in the south of the province of Alicante, and had many people wondering at their origin, from sinister chemtrails to aliens to a drunken pilot.
In reality, the curling contrails were made by several planes, including some fighter jets from the Royal Air Force and a Dassault Falcon 20, a type of aircraft used to make business trips, at least according to data from real-time flight tracking website Flightradar24.
It should be noted that the Dassault Falcon 20 is not to be confused with the Falcon 900, the private jet used by the President of the Government of Spain and members of the Royal Household.
The Dassault Falcon 20 plane took off from Albacete yesterday, Monday November 27, and is said to be of British origin.
The plane travelled from the south of Castilla-La Mancha’s Albacete in a straight line to the waters of Murcia, where it began to perform the unusual manoeuvres that left the bizarre white lines in the sky.
Some have hypothesised that the reason for this strange flight course could be a problem with the jet that forced it into an emergency landing, or maybe the people who chartered the plane deliberately wanted to be taken on a wild ride.
More likely, the chartered jet was being used to simulate a military combat situation for the benefit of the other fighter jets flying around at the same time.
At the same time, military jet fighters are performing practice drills from Albacete, with some breaking the sound barrier and creating a sonic boom that scared many people in the Murcia and Alicante areas last week.
