ARCHIVED - Sun and temperatures up to 37 degrees: Andalusia weather forecast May 9-15
As well as extreme max temperatures, the minimum base level temperature will also rise by 5ºC this week
After so much rain in Spain, many would say we’re due some sunny weather. Which is exactly what we’ll get along the Costa del Sol and in the rest of Andalucía this week and for the foreseeable future.
While the Canary Islands are actually on yellow alert for extremely high temperatures, Andalucía will not have any weather warnings in place, though there will be extremely high temperatures in some parts. On the whole, though, the weather will be manageable in most of the autonomous community.
There will be some light cloud cover, of course, and even some localised showers in parts of inland Granada on the evenings of Friday May 13 and Sunday May 15. But for the most part there will be unbroken sun across the region.
Temperatures will also rise dramatically as we go through the week, reaching highs of a sweltering 37ºC in Seville and Cordoba by Saturday May 14. Also crucial is the increase in minimum temperatures, which will go from 8ºC at the beginning of the week in the mountainous sierras of Granada to 13ºC by the end of it – a jump up of five degrees in terms of the base level temperature as we move into the warmer part of the year.
