Sun, wind and falling temperatures: Murcia weekend weather forecast March 21-24
It will get colder and even a bit rainy as we head into next week
After some cloudy ‘calima’ conditions earlier this week, some strong winds and cooler weather are predicted for this weekend in Murcia, and while there will be plenty of sunshine, the beginning of next week could be considerably more gloomy.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has issued a yellow warning for this Thursday, March 21, for adverse phenomena on the coast of Murcia around Cartagena.

Specifically, the warning predicts northeasterly winds of 50 to 60 kilometres per hour (force 7) and waves of 2 to 3 metres between 4pm hours and midnight on Thursday. The areas under warning include the entire coastline of the municipality, including places such as La Manga, Cartagena and La Azohía, extending west to the coastline of Mazarrón and east up to San Javier.
When the wind is this strong, it is recommended to stay away from jetties, beaches and other places close to the coastline which may be affected by the breaking waves and the intensity of the wind, as well as to avoid going out to sea and to keep an eye on boat moorings.
On Friday 22, there is no weather warning in place as the wind should have died down somewhat, but it will still be noticeably blustery along the coast, with windspeeds up to 30 or 35kmh all weekend long.
Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 should be fairly sunny, with cloudy patches, and Murcia will be on yellow alert once again on Sunday evening, between 6pm and midnight, for more strong winds.

For the weekend, both maximum and minimum temperatures are in decline. From highs of 27ºC on Friday, we go down to 23ºC on Sunday and then further down as we head into next week, when minimums at night will drop below the 10ºC-mark.
