The Capitol theatre in Cieza

The Teatro Capitol de Cieza was originally opened in 1955, but closed at the beginning of the 1990’s. In 1994 the building was acquired by the Town hall of Cieza and the theatre was given an 11 million euro overhaul in 2013, before being inaugurated by Queen Sofía.

The restoration project was designed by Horacio Fernández del Castillo, maintaining the original fachade although incorporating a modern interior and facilities. The new auditorium has a capacity for 700 spectators and the second sala for 150.

The Theatre Box Office is open between Wednesday and Friday from 11:00 to 13:00 and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings between the hours of 18:00 and 20:00.

The theatre is also open for last-minute ticket purchases two hours before the start of performances.
