Temperatures soar to 36 degrees: Andalusia weather forecast May 24-26
Suspended dust will create a haze in parts this weekend as most of Andalucía sizzles in the sunshine
Weather outlook on Saturday May 25
Summer is set to arrive in southern Spain this weekend with sunny skies and soaring temperatures forecast in most of Andalucía. The only blight on the horizon is the possibility of suspended dust along the Mediterranean coast, which could lead to a few rather hazy days.
Friday May 24
The skies will be brilliantly clear in most of Andalucía on Friday but some low clouds could creep in to the mountain ranges of the east, where isolated showers and even occasional storms aren’t ruled out.
This is the day when suspended dust will start blowing across the Mediterranean coast, and a generally light westerly breeze will feel much stronger on the Almería coast and the Strait of Gibraltar.
Daytime temperatures will begin to climb, ranging between 24 and 33ºC.
Saturday May 25
The skies will be dusted with a few more high clouds on Saturday and the eastern mountains will continue to be overcast. Suspended dust will make another appearance in the Mediterranean, where there will also be more cloudy spells and some evening mist.
Few changes are expected to the night-time temperatures but the mercury will increase by a degree or two in most places at the height of the day.
Sunday May 26
Temperatures will shoot up on Sunday, reaching a sweltering 36ºC in Sevilla and Córdoba and ranging from 25ºC to 34ºC elsewhere.
The lingering dust particles will spread to the entire eastern half of the community and the Mediterranean coast will see a rather cloudy and foggy start to the day. This will clear to give way to a mostly sunny and bright day, although showers are again possible in mountainous areas.
