The best beach in the world is in Spain, according to National Geographic
This sandy stretch in the Canary Islands is “one of the most seductive areas” on the globe

Spain’s stunning coastline is no stranger to accolades, with Rodas Beach in the Cíes Islands often topping the rankings. But this time, National Geographic has gone even further afield and crowned a Canary Islands treasure as the very best beach on the planet.
Their pick is Corralejo Beach on the island of Fuerteventura.
It’s certainly not hard to see why. On the northern coast of the island, Corralejo’s Great Beaches run for about nine kilometres, bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the sweeping Corralejo Dunes Natural Park on the other.
The combination of vast sandy stretches and wild volcanic landscapes creates an atmosphere that feels far removed from everyday life.
Different parts of the beach each have their own character. El Moro, El Caserón and Los Martos are just a few of the spots where soft, pale sand meets turquoise waters. The steady winds that sometimes blow in are a gift for windsurfers and other water sports fans, while for everyone else they simply add to the sense of being surrounded by untamed nature.
As if the beaches themselves weren’t enough, just a couple of kilometres offshore lies Los Lobos, a small islet that is also protected as a natural park.
Together, the beaches and their surroundings form what National Geographic describes as one of the most seductive and ecologically valuable corners of the Canary Islands.
