The rain just won't go away: Murcia weekly weather forecast May 4-7
Dark clouds and showers are forecast for Murcia this week along with sunny spells and mild temperatures

The Spanish have a saying: ‘Hasta el quince de mayo, no te quites el sayo’. It basically means to say don’t put away your winter wardrobe completely until the middle of May, because it could still be cold and rainy up until then.
That folk wisdom appears to be proving its worth this year as, despite some early high temperatures in March and April, the forecast from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) for the Region of Murcia and much of the rest of Spain this week is for more rainy days and thunderstorms.
Though it won’t exactly be cold by any stretch of the imagination, with daytime temperatures reaching into the mid-20s, the cloudy and wet conditions could make it feel a bit chilly.
Monday May 4
Murcia weather forecast, Monday May 4Monday gets off to a grey start for many, with the rain showers and lightning storms making their way down into Murcia from the north by mid-morning, spreading to almost all corners of the Region by the early afternoon.
According to Aemet, minimum temperatures will see “few changes” while “maximum temperatures will rise inland but remain unchanged along the coast”. A light westerly or southwesterly wind will blow, “becoming moderate during the middle of the day along the coast,” meaning windspeeds of up to 25-30kmh.
Tuesday May 5
Murcia windspeeds, Tuesday May 5No rain is forecast for Tuesday, though there could be more moderately strong winds in the early afternoon – around 20-25kmh and even up to 30kmh in Mula.
Wednesday May 6
Murcia minimum and maximum temperatures, Wednesday May 6Wednesday will also be a dry day, but with temperatures falling but still staying around the low- to mid-20s during the day. Night-time temperatures will hover around 6-7ºC in the north of the Region, 10-11ºC in the central strip and 13-15ºC along the coast.
Thursday May 7
Murcia weather forecast, Thursday May 7Those temperatures remain largely unchanged, even as the rain returns on Thursday, giving the whole Region – with all its fields and farms – a light drizzle, slightly heavier in the morning but more widespread in the afternoon, which could actually make it feel colder than it is.
Looking ahead to the weekend, the outlook is much the same so far at this early juncture: dark, heavy clouds and rain mixed with sunny spells. ¡No te quites el sayo!
