The rain returns to sunny Spain: Weekly weather forecast April 7-10
There will be a mix of spring sunshine, showers and breezy spells across Spain

It’s a gorgeously sunny start to the week in Spain, with sunshine, calm conditions and mild spring temperatures across the whole country, before it turns rainy in the far northwest on Wednesday and in the south on Thursday, ahead of a wet weekend for all.
Monday April 7

The week starts with generally settled conditions across most of mainland Spain. Expect cloudy skies in the southwest early on, with light rain that should clear by mid-morning. Elsewhere, it’ll be partly cloudy with some early fog or mist in northern and Atlantic areas. The afternoon could bring a few light showers in the northeast. The Canary Islands will see mostly clear skies with a few clouds later inland.
Temperatures will rise in many areas, especially inland, but stay steady or dip slightly along the Mediterranean and Balearic coasts. Light frosts are possible in the Pyrenees. Winds will mostly be light to moderate, coming from the west and northwest, later shifting to the east. It will be breezy in the Strait.
Tuesday April 8

Much the same story continues, with generally clear or lightly cloudy skies inland. Low morning clouds and mist may linger along the northern and Mediterranean coasts. During the afternoon, clouds will build in the west and north, and a few light showers may develop inland in the east and in the Balearics. The Canary Islands will turn cloudier as a front moves in, especially over the western islands, where some showers could be heavy at times.
Temperatures will rise slightly across much of the country, though the Mediterranean coast and Balearics may cool a bit. In the Canary Islands, it will warm in the east but cool in the west. Winds will stay mostly light to moderate from the east, with strong gusts possible in the Strait and Alboran Sea.
Wednesday April 9

On the Wednesday, conditions turn more unsettled. A low-pressure system near the Canaries and a disturbance in the north will bring more cloud to most regions. We can expect showers, some possibly heavy with thunder or hail, in northern and northeastern Spain. The southwest might see rain later, while the Canary Islands could get persistent, locally strong downpours.
Saharan dust may reach the south of the Peninsula. Temperatures will drop in the north and Canary Islands but hold steady elsewhere. Winds will stay easterly, picking up around exposed coastal areas and mountain zones.
Thursday April 10

The low system extends into western Spain, bringing widespread cloud and rain. Showers may be heavy and stormy, especially inland. The Balearics should escape most of the rain. The Canaries will stay wet, especially in higher areas early on.
The Saharan dust from the south may spread across much of Spain. Temperatures will dip in the south but remain stable elsewhere. Winds stay moderate from the east, with strong gusts likely in exposed coastal and inland areas.
