This is how Caser Residencial nursing home in Murcia celebrated Easter and St. Patrick's Day
Residents and regular visitors to the Murcia care home for the elderly frequently take part in cultural and social activities
The staff at the Caser Residencial Santo Ángel nursing home in Murcia city are always looking for ways to make their residents’ lives more enjoyable, more comfortable and more exciting.
This Easter, the elderly residents at the care home got the chance to experience a real taste of Spanish Semana Santa when the processions came to them. They could see and feel the excitement of the traditional religious processions from the comfort of the centre itself!
But that’s not all, as the elderly also took part in a special workshop for planting flowers and vegetables to welcome the Spring Festivities of the Region of Murcia.
These kinds of activities are an important part of the social fabric of the Santo Ángel nursing home, which has its own specialist International Unit catering specifically to the needs of foreign residents.
For St. Patrick’s Day a couple of weeks earlier, they put up green banners, gave out green ‘luck o’ the Irish’ hats, played Irish music and enjoyed the opportunity to raise a glass to friendship and cultural exchange.
“At Caser Residencial, we believe in the importance of celebrating the traditions and festivities that unite us with each other and our community,” said a company spokesperson. “We believe in the importance of feeling at home.”
