ARCHIVED - Three police cars wrecked in high-speed chase through Los Alcazares, Murcia
Two motorists in separate cars fleeing a checkpoint rammed police vehicles in pursuit during a chase in the Region of Murcia town

A high-speed chase through the streets of Los Alcázares during the early hours of Sunday morning (March 19) left carnage in its wake after three police cars were rammed by two fleeing motorists.
At around 5.30am, a Local Police unit was carrying out a traffic surveillance operation and signalled for two vehicles, a grey Kia and a Mercedes A Class to pull over.
Far from stopping, the drivers of both cars accelerated and sped off.
Police took chase and in a desperate attempt to get away, the suspect cars rammed into the patrol vehicles, writing off one of them and damaging the other two.
Thankfully, nobody was hurt in the pursuit, but police lost trace of both cars in the hamlet of Dolores de Pacheco (Torre Pacheco) and they are still at large.
Although there has been no official statement, sources consulted by the press claim the occupants of the vehicles may have committed a crime in the area moments before crossing the police checkpoint.
