UK holidaymaker, 18, dies in Spain balcony fall accident
The teen was on holiday in the Canary Islands with his parents when he tumbled from the hotel balcony

A British teenager has died after he fell from the balcony of his Lanzarote hotel this Tuesday October 24.
The incident occurred at the three-star Galeon Playa Apart-Hotel, from where the 18-year-old was rushed to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in Arrecife yesterday morning suffering “very serious” injuries.
He was on holiday with his parents in Lanzarote for half term, and it apparently wasn’t a case of a late-night, alcohol-fuelled ‘balconing’ event that injures and kills so many holidaymakers in Spain when they trying to climb and leap across hotel balconies.
A source close to the investigation said: “This was an accident that wasn’t alcohol-related or linked to any improper behaviour on the part of the teenager who died like climbing between balconies.
“He fell from the second floor. The alarm was raised at 7.30am and he died in hospital four hours later.
“An investigation is ongoing but foul play has been ruled out.”
A duty court in Arrecife has been placed in charge of the judicial probe into the incident.
