Until January 28 Harry Potter exhibition at the Augusteum in Cartagena
Take a trip to Hogwarts in the atmospheric setting of the Roman Augusteum in Cartagena
The magical world of J.K. Rowling can be visited in one of the main Roman sites of Cartagena from now until January 28 at the “Cartagena Mágica” exhibition, which is being held to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the first in the hugely popular series of Hogwarts novels for both adults and children.
The Augusteum visiting space is 5 metres below the ground level of modern Cartagena and this location has been converted for two months into a treasure trove of Hogwarts memorabilia, containing more than 150 items such as wands, decorative features, scale character models and limited-edition collectors’ pieces. Crossing into the magical world on platform 9 ¾, visitors entre Hogwarts itself and a wand to perform their own spells – they can even find out which House the Sorting Hat puts them in!
Cartagena Mágica is open at the Augusteum in Calle Caballero every day of the week except Monday from 10.00 to 17.30, with admission priced at 4 euros, and special dramatized visits are being held on December 6, 8, 9,10, 17, 26 and 29 at 17.00 and on December 30 at 11.30 (price 14 euros).
Tickets and further information are available from Puerto de Culturas (telephone 968 500093).
