Until March 20 Exhibition of Semana Santa adornments in Cartagena
Miguel Fernández Rochera added numerous elements of beauty to the traditional Semana Santa processions in Cartagena
The Sala Dora Caraineu on Calle Ronda in Cartagena is hosting a seasonal exhibition of stunning Semana Santa robes and accoutrements until March 20, paying homage to the legacy left by Miguel Fernández Rochera in contributing to the spendour of the annual processions in the city.
Rochera was the man who created the brotherhood of Cristo Resucitado in Cartagena and the exhibits on display include items belonging to no fewer than three brotherhoods.
Miguel Fernández Rochera was born in 1912 in Mahón but grew up in the centre of Cartagena, living in Calle Don Roque and Calle Santa Florentina. He was a forward-thinking intellectual who added countless elements of beauty to the Semana Santa processions in the city.
The exhibition is open to the public from Tuesday to Friday between 10.00 and 13.30 and from 17.00 to 19.30, and at weekends from 10.00 to 14.00.
