ARCHIVED - Vueling cancels Seville airport flight routes ahead of busy summer season
The Spanish airline seems to be experiencing problems as the announcement comes that they will be stopping six Andalusia flight routes
Spanish low-cost airline Vueling has eliminated 6 routes from its Seville airport roster, leaving the base it maintains at SVQ at a minimum, according to Sevilla Vuela.
The Seville airport aviation profile claims that these latest cuts mean there will be “just 3 aircraft” based at the Andalusia hub this April, even as we approach the busy Easter and summer flight schedules.
Specifically, Vueling is cancelling flights to three of its Spanish destinations (A Coruña, Asturias and Menorca) as well as two to France (Lyon and Nantes) and also Rome Fiumicino airport in Italy.
Sevilla Vuela said that Vueling “is losing market share in a resounding way” due to competition from Ryanair and “other smaller companies such as Transavia”.
