WATCH: Inebriated Brit hauled off Ryanair flight to Ibiza
The Liverpool-Spain flight was diverted to France to offload the drunk traveller
Frustrated passengers couldn’t resist cheering as police hauled a completely inebriated British man off a flight bound for Ibiza which instead had to be diverted to Bordeaux on Tuesday October 3.
According to Ryanair, the passenger “became disruptive” after the plane set off from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and the pilot had no choice but to divert the Boeing 737 to France so the disorderly chap could be booted off.
A hilarious video shows that the man in question was quite literally legless and had to be supported by three French officers to leave his seat and stagger into the terminal. The police could barely suppress their smiles as passengers clapped and cheered, with one laughing: “He doesn’t even know where he is.”

The plane was diverted to Bordeaux around an hour into the flight but carried on to Ibiza shortly after the drunken passenger was removed.
A spokesperson for Ryanair told Mirror tonight: "This flight from Liverpool to Ibiza (03 Oct) diverted to Bordeaux after a passenger became disruptive inflight. Crew called ahead for police assistance and the aircraft was met by local police upon arrival who removed the passenger. The flight continued to Ibiza following a short delay. This is now a matter for local police."
Embarrassingly, not a week goes by without some sort of ruckus on flights to Spain, as one disgruntled passenger pointed out: "It’s endemic on flights now. You can see them before they board, but staff more interested in your luggage being two inches over the limit."
