Weather warnings updated for this Wednesday
Much of Murcia is now on orange alert for rainstorms for most of the day
Murcia weather warnings, Wednesday August 14
Spain's State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has updated its adverse weather warning for this Wednesday, August 14, for rain and storms, and has set it at orange level for rainfall which may reach up to 30 litres per square metre in one hour in most of the Region of Murcia, except in the northwest.
Originally, the entire Region was on yellow alert, but now most parts will receive more rainfall and heavier storms than were first predicted.
Some of the recommendations by Emergency Services when confronted with heavy storms include closing doors and windows (obviously); unplugging electrical appliances and the TV aerial (in the event of a strong electrical discharge); cleaning the water outlets on terraces, patios and roofs; not going out into the mountains or hiking, especially the higher parts of hills, hills and ridges; not driving unless absolutely necessary, and if you must go in the car, be sure to drive slowly, taking more precaution than usual and stopping in areas where large amounts of water may flow.
The storm warnings will be in place from 12 midday on Wednesday until midnight. After that point, all the weather alerts will be deactivated, as Thursday's rain is expected to be weaker, while the weekend's weather is forecast to be brighter and sunnier.
