Where and when will it rain in Murcia this weekend? Weather forecast June 6-9
At last, we’re going to get some proper rain in Murcia over the coming days
With the arrival of a so-called ‘DANA’ or ‘Gota Fría’ stormfront to Spain at the tail end of this week, the Region of Murcia is (finally!) forecast to get some much-needed showers to cool us down after the sweltering highs of recent days.
Thursday June 6 and Friday 7 will remain dry and sunny with cloudy patches. Temperatures during the say will get up to 33-34ºC in the centre and north of the Region, while on the coast there will be highs of 28-30ºC.

On Saturday 8, temperatures remain high but come the afternoon the storms will hit vast swathes of the Region. Sweeping down from northwestern Spain, the parts of Murcia that will feel the brunt of the storm will be around Caravaca, Cieza and Lorca, with thunder and lightning also forecast in Jumilla, Yecla and Totana.
Mazarrón will also get rain, but Cartagena, San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar and the Mar Menor should remain untouched.
Murcia weather forecast, Saturday June 8
Sunday 9 should be much drier and sunnier, though temperatures will slowly begin to drop over the following few days. The nights will remain warm but daytime temperatures will decrease by 7 or 8 degrees by Tuesday June 11. Right now, the forecast is for more rain next Tuesday and Wednesday, even around the Mar Menor and Cartagena this time, helping to water the gardens and farms and top up the reservoirs a bit for the coming summer!
