ARCHIVED - Yellow warnings for storms and rain in Murcia: weather forecast October 21 to 24
Coastal areas such as Cartagena and Mazarrón are expected to bear the worst of the storms
After relatively mild weather over the past week, the State Meteorological Agency, Aemet, has issued weather warnings for most of the coastal areas in the Region of Murcia on Friday October 22, with stormy weather expected in Mazarrón and the Campo de Cartagena.
Thursday October 21 is forecast to be sunny across the Region with temperatures in the high twenties, but rain clouds will start setting in during the early hours of Friday morning, both in Murcia and in the neighbouring province of Alicante.
The entire Region can expect rain and storms throughout the day on Friday, with yellow weather warnings for both heavy rain and storms in effect from 6am until 3pm in the Campo de Cartagena and Mazarrón. Temperatures are also expected to drop sharply and are forecast to be between 15 and 20 degrees in most of the Region.
Fortunately, the weather is expected to brighten up on Saturday October 23, with only light showers expected in coastal areas, including La Manga del Mar Menor, San Javier, Los Alcázares and Mázarron.
By Sunday October 24 sunny skies will have returned to the Region of Murcia with temperatures rising to the mid-twenties once again.
