ARCHIVED - Yellow weather alert for rain and storms on south Murcia coast this Wednesday
The rainfall could dump up to 20 litres per square metre in an hour in Mazarrón and Cartagena
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) issued a yellow warning on Tuesday for rain and storms that will continue to affect areas of Murcia such as the Valle del Guadalentín, Lorca, Águilas, the Campo de Cartagena and Mazarrón (including Camposol) this Wednesday.
The alert, which will be in force from midnight to 3pm, warns that 20 litres of rainfall per square metre may accumulate during the episode of rain and storms in just one hour.
However, the weather is forecast to pick up again from Thursday and bring a mainly dry and sunny end to the week, with scattered cloud cover and some showers on Friday night and early Saturday morning.
