Young man arrested for sexual assault on tourist in Tenerife
A Belgian tourist was attacked in Costa Adeje; police have tracked down the suspect through key evidence

The woman had been at a restaurant in the southern part of the island around 1am, where she met three men. A little while later, she agreed to go for a ride on a motorcycle with one of them. The suspect allegedly took her to a dark, dead-end street, where he violently assaulted her before fleeing on his bike.
The woman managed to seek help at a nearby establishment, where emergency services were called. She was quickly taken to hospital for medical attention, while police secured the area and gathered physical evidence, which would later be critical to the case.
Over the following weeks, investigators pieced together what happened that night and were able to identify the suspect. The victim’s description, particularly of a brightly coloured tattoo on the man’s hand, helped officers narrow down their search.
By early March, they had located the suspect—a 21-year-old man with no prior criminal record. He was subsequently arrested and brought before the relevant legal authorities.
