ARCHIVED - 1.7 million euro investment to build a new section of the Vial J in Calpe
Section 6 will connect Avenida Casa Nova with Avenida Rumanía
The town hall of Calpe has presented plans for urbanization work on section 6 of the Vial J in the municipality of Calpe at an estimated cost of 1.7 million euros, of which 430,000 euros will be provided by the Alicante provincial diputation and the remainder by the local council. The project aims to decongest the traffic on the coast of Calpe, one of the most important tourist destinations on the Costa Blanca.
The key infrastructure project, located in the Marina Alta area, will connect Avenida Casa Nova with Avenida Rumanía with facilities for both vehicles and pedestrians. The 630-metre-long section 6 will also have urban services such as natural gas and underground wiring installed during construction ready for future urban growth.
In addition the new section of road will have 3-metre-wide sidewalks with trees and two lanes for each direction of traffic, which will be separated by a median containing bushes.
Over the next two years more new infrastructures like section 6 will be built in order to contribute to Calpe’s urban growth as well as improving access to the municipality by providing a new connection between the beaches and the national highway.
A further 280,000 euros are going to be invested through the “+ Cerca” Plan into developing a themed children’s playground in La Vallesa.
