ARCHIVED - 5 migrants rescued off the coast of Aguilas
The irregular immigrants were spotted close to Matalentisco beach at dawn

Rescue workers in the Murcia municipality of Águilas had an early start on Wednesday March 22 when a ‘patera’ – a small boat or dingy – was spotted at Matalentisco beach.
The flimsy vessel was carrying five male immigrants, according to the Red Cross, who wasted no time in activating the immediate emergency response team (ERIE) while officers from the Guardia Civil transferred the men safely to shore at Casica Verde beach.
All of the immigrants are understood to be of legal age and in apparent good health.
