Alicante weather October 5-8: Temperatures stay high as rain and storms return
Warm temperatures will continue across the Alicante Province despite a return of scattered showers and the risk of storms

After last week's heavy rain and weather alerts across parts of Alicante Province, there are currently no active weather warnings in place this week. However, that doesn't mean the rain is over, with scattered showers expected over the next few days and a chance of thunderstorms in some parts of the province. Let's take a look at the breakdown for the next few days:
Monday October 5
Cloud will develop across the Alicante Province on Monday, but there is little change expected in temperatures. Alicante City and Orihuela will reach 28°C, while Elche will be slightly warmer at 29°C. Alcoy and Dénia will both reach 26°C.
Winds will be light and variable, with southerly winds becoming more noticeable around midday. There could be some stronger winds around Cabo de la Nau.
Tuesday October 6
The chance of rain increases on Tuesday, with cloudy skies and scattered showers expected during the day, there are even the possibility of thunderstorms. Temperatures will remain warm, reaching 29°C in Alicante and Elche, 28°C in Dénia and Orihuela and 27°C in Alcoy.
Winds will be light and variable, becoming northwesterly across the southern third of the Province after lunch. Coastal areas could see stronger winds at times.
Wednesday October 7
Cloudy intervals will continue on Wednesday, with showers more likely inland. An isolated shower cannot be ruled out along the coast either. Temperatures will fall in some parts of the province, but Alicante and Elche will still reach 30°C. Orihuela will reach 29°C, while Dénia will see a high of 27°C and Alcoy 25°C.
Winds will be light from the west, becoming moderate around noon.
Thursday October 8
On Thursday, showers could develop across the southern third of Alicante Province during the afternoon. Some of these could be accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, so there is still the possibility of some unsettled weather in the south despite the lack of any weather warnings.
Temperatures will be slightly lower, reaching 28°C in Alicante and Elche, 27°C in Orihuela, 26°C in Dénia and 24°C in Alcoy.
Winds will be light to moderate from the west early in the morning, with easterly winds developing across the southern third of the province from around midday.
As last week showed, weather conditions can change quickly, particularly at this time of year. Keep an eye on the latest AEMET updates and official weather alerts in case conditions change.
