ARCHIVED - Amazon logistics centre in Corvera changes hands
The arrival of Amazon has resulted in an economic boom for the Murcia municipality and neighbouring towns
The arrival of the Amazon logistics centre in Corvera last year provided a much-needed boost to the local area, as well as the otherwise rural towns of Los Martínez del Puerto, Baños y Mendigo and Fuente Álamo, with local retail and real estate businesses reaping the rewards of an influx of new employees.
Now, the site has changed hands once more as the London-based Roebuck Asset Management company has sold the centre to Savills Investment Management (Savills IM) for 95 million euros, along with its locations in Alicante and Valladolid.
According to Savills, the properties add up to an area of more than 23,000 square metres and have a lease term of 13 years.
The co-director of investments of GFH Financial Group, which owns Roebuck, commented this week that the company decided “to make an early and profitable exit to ensure a strong return for investors”, while acknowledging that their “investment in Amazon’s last-mile fulfilment warehouse portfolio has delivered the targeted return and desired capital appreciation.”
