ARCHIVED - Andalusia coronavirus death toll passes 8,000 as region registers 2,293 new cases on Friday
Altogether, the Andalucía region has registered 465,558 confirmed cases of Covid-19 and 8,003 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
The Andalusian Statistics Institute has released the new coronavirus figures for Friday (19 February) which refer to the previous 24 hours. There have been 69 deaths, 14 fewer than on Thursday, and 2,293 new cases, the highest number so far this week.
The 14-day accumulated incidence rate has fallen to 341.2 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, down 31 from Thursday and 241.5 from Friday of last week.
Seville was the province to record the most deaths, 18, followed by Cádiz with 15, Granada with 14, Málaga with 12, Huelva with 4, Almería with 3, Córdoba with 2 and Jaén with just 1.
Seville and Málaga recorded the most new cases, 523 and 510 respectively, followed by Cádiz with 456, Granada with 272, Almería with 227, Córdoba with 142, Jaén with 114 and Huelva with 49.
The number of people in Andalusian hospitals with coronavirus fell for the fourth day in a row, to 2,746, which is 197 fewer than on Thursday and 1,117 fewer than on Friday last week.
Altogether there are 626 Covid-19 patients in ICUs across the region.
