ARCHIVED - Over a quarter of a million people in Murcia set to benefit from pension increases
252,000 pensioners and recipients of other state benefits in the Region of Murcia will receive an arrears payment next year
As a result of the national increase in pension payments, set to be formally approved later this week, from now on pensions will rise each year based on the average inflation of the previous 12 months.
Around 252,000 pensioners in the Region of Murcia will see their pay increase next year by 2.5%, in view of the forecasts that inflation in November has reached 5.6%.
On average, this will mean around 200 euros extra per person, which will be paid in an additional payment that is expected to be made in January or February 2022, bearing in mind that the average pension is around 916 euros.
In Murcia, some 147,000 retirees with paid pensions will benefit from the new scheme, in addition to the 15,500 beneficiaries of non-contributory benefits, 62,000 widows, 12,000 orphans and 30,600 contributors with permanent disability.
