Arctic blast brings wintery temperatures: Spain weather forecast April 22-25
Several stormy fronts will cross Spain this week resulting in falling temperatures and isolated showers
Weather outlook on Tuesday April 23
After a fairly changeable weekend, a blast of cold air is set to sweep across Spain during the first half of this week, bringing a corridor of winds from the north and northeast that will drastically lower temperatures in much of the country, particularly at night.
A second front looks likely to arrive later on in the week, and while it won’t be as forceful, it means that the temperatures will have no time to warm up ahead of the weekend.
Monday April 22
The cold front will approach the Mediterranean early on Monday, bringing instability to much of northeastern Spain and the Balearic Islands. It will be largely cloudy with a good chance of showers in the south which could turn stormy in the afternoon.
Daytime temperatures will remain relatively steady and even climb in Andalucía but the evening will be noticeably cooler across the board.
An orange weather warning has been activated in Catalonia for intense storms and wind.
Tuesday April 23
The weather will continue to be unpredictable along the Mediterranean coast on Tuesday, with cloudy intervals and the possibility of showers and storms, especially in Catalonia, the Balearic Islands and mountainous areas of the southeast.
The rest of the country should be fairly bright and clear with some light cloudiness.
Temperatures will begin to fall almost everywhere except the Canary Islands.
Yellow weather alerts remain in place for rough seas in Catalonia and Galicia.
Wednesday April 24
Lightly cloudy or clear skies will predominate in most of the country on Wednesday although it will become more overcast towards the evening.
Daytime temperatures will temporarily increase in most places, but the thermometers still won’t climb much higher than the low 20s, even in the southeast. Wednesday night will also be much cooler in the extreme south of the country.
Thursday April 25
The forecast is a little harder to predict later in the week but for now, it looks as though Thursday will be relatively stable with the approach of an Atlantic front from the northwest. The day should be mostly clear with some light cloud cover but again, the skies will tend to grow overcast later on.
Daytime temperatures will increase slightly in the east of Spain and fall everywhere else.
