ARCHIVED - BA CityFlyer brings forward start of London-Gibraltar flights
Gibraltar is expected to be on the list of green countries when the UK permits the resumption of international travel
This week all those in the UK hoping to book a summer break abroad are waiting for confirmation of which countries will be on the UK’s “green for go” list if the ban on international travel is removed from May 17 onwards.
On Wednesday it was revealed that Gibraltar might be on the list of green lighted countries for travel this summer, as a result of which, BA CityFlyer have decided to bring forward the start of their new service from London City Airport to Gibraltar.
Flights will now start on 11th June, instead of 25th June as previously announced. Flights for 11th June onwards are now on sale in anticipation that it will indeed be a green light for Gibraltar, following its success in bringing the covid pandemic under control on the Rock.
At the moment, the ban on nationals from third countries (which includes the UK post-Brexit) wishing to enter Spain has been extended to the end of May.
