Bafta-winning Brit businessman found dead in Spain after 2-year search
Digital producer Giles Pooley vanished from his Barcelona home in March 2023

A two-year missing person mystery has come to a tragic conclusion as Catalan police have confirmed that Bafta-winning British businessman Giles Pooley has been found dead. The digital producer disappeared without a trace from his Barcelona home back in March 2023.
On March 8, Giles’s roommate reported him missing when he returned home to find his friend’s treasured Husky dog Finn alone, something he insisted was completely out of character. A large-scale search ensued but no trace of the talented Brit was ever found.
At the end of last year, a body was discovered in Montjuic, a mountainous area of Barcelona and the authorities have just revealed that DNA tests confirmed that it is the missing Brit.
His death is not being treated as suspicious.
Tributes have been pouring in for the self-described “multi award-winning digital producer.”
“We’re still waiting to know fully what happened, but police have confirmed he’s gone. He overcame so much in life, reaching incredible highs, so I don’t want to focus on how he left us, I want to remember what he gave us,” one friend said.
“Giles was talented. He won a place at The Brit School, then launched himself into production in Soho across ads and promos. He landed a job at Sky Movies working his way up the world of digital media winning a Bafta for his work on Terry Pratchett’s Hogfather,” he added.
Fellow Brit Levi Davis, a rugby player who disappeared from the La Rambla area of Barcelona on the night of October 29, 2022, is yet to be found.
