Benidorm's first motorhome site could be on the way
Plans submitted for 284-space stopover in Marxassos industrial estate

The project, put forward by Melmus Activos SL, would see 284 motorhome spaces created across 29,000 square metres of land in the city’s Marxassos district. The land covers two plots, right next to the N-332 and close to the Salt de l’Aigua school zone, on part of an industrial estate that is currently undeveloped.
If it goes ahead, the site would bring Benidorm in line with nearby towns like Finestrat and l'Alfàs del Pi, which already have overnight parking facilities for motorhomes.
According to the developers, the idea is to “respond to this growing demand for this type of tourist service.” The plans also include a central recreational area, a block with toilets and showers, and a 24-hour reception point.
The project is still in its early stages. For now, there is a public consultation open until the end of May. Once that closes, the Ministry of Environment, Infrastructure and Territory will review the feedback and decide whether the proposal can move forward. That would mean carrying out a Declaration of Community Interest and confirming whether the site is viable.
Benidorm already has a good number of established campsites, but motorhome-specific sites have so far been banned. If this one is approved, it would mark quite a shift in local policy and could encourage more motorhome travellers to visit.
There’s still time for people to have their say before the consultation ends—and the final decision now lies with the regional government.
