Body of missing Northern Irishman discovered in Spain, with suspect arrested for murder
The body of the missing 37-year-old was found in advanced state of decomposition, and an arrest has been made for suspected murder
A 32-year-old man has been arrested following the discovery of the decomposed body of John George, a 37-year-old Northern Irishman, in Rojales on Tuesday January 7. The arrest, carried out by the Guardia Civil, is linked to an alleged offence of murder.
The investigation began after Georgie’s father reported him missing to Northern Irish authorities on December 21. George had been expected to return home but had not made contact. Acting on this report, the judicial police team in Pilar de la Horadada located his body in an advanced state of decomposition during a search operation on Tuesday afternoon.
The body has been transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine, where experts will determine the cause of death.
The case is ongoing, with the Guardia Civil continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding Georgie’s death.
