Body recovered from water at AlmerÃa port
Emergency services were alerted after a man was spotted floating near the Virgen del Carmen monument in Garrucha

A man's body has been recovered from the water at the port of Garrucha in Almería after emergency services received reports of a person floating face down in the sea.
According to Andalucía's 112 emergency service, the alert was raised at around 9.15am on Monday June 15 when Garrucha Civil Protection informed operators that it had received a call reporting the discovery near the Virgen del Carmen monument.
The Guardia Civil was immediately notified and dispatched to the scene.
Civil Protection later confirmed that the body had been brought ashore at the commercial port.
The identity of the deceased has not been released and no details have yet been provided regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Guardia Civil has confirmed that the judicial protocol has been activated, with an investigation now under way to determine the cause of death.
No further information has been made public at this stage.
