British pensioner goes missing in Tenerife after leaving hospital
Concern is growing for 70-year-old Gary Ferns, last seen near Playa Las Vistas in December

His sister Elaine has made a public appeal for information, stating on Facebook: "My brother is officially a missing person in Tenerife. He was picked up with an ambulance on 19 December 2024, but there is no record of him being admitted to hospital. The police have been informed."
Gary, who has blonde hair, blue eyes and a moustache, has difficulty moving around due to a broken hip and past health issues. He also relies on a walking frame, making it unlikely that he could have travelled far on his own. His disappearance has worried both locals and friends at Noah’s Ark bar in Puerto Colón, where he was a familiar face.
Despite an ongoing police investigation, authorities have not indicated any criminal involvement at this stage. However, the Missing Persons Tenerife community has highlighted the seriousness of the case, confirming that police are actively searching for Gary.
Anyone with information about Gary's whereabouts is urged to contact the authorities.
