Bus strikes have been cancelled again throughout Spain
CCOO has called off the action for today, as the sector continues to fight for early retirement
The worker’s commissions (CCOO) have cancelled the general bus strike that was planned to take place today, Monday December 9, in Spain. The strike was to be participated by the urban, intercity and state bus drivers in order to demand early retirement in the sector.
As a result of the cancellation of the strike, the organisation has decided to resume bus services with 50% of the usual activities taking place across the national level.
This strike, which was planned for today, would have been the fourth day of seven days of planned striking. The first three days of striking took place on October 28 and November 28 and 29. A strike which was to take place on November 11, was also cancelled as a result of the effects caused by the DANA.
This latest strike which has now been cancelled was supported by the CCOO, with more than 40% representation in the sector of bus drivers. The strike has been called off because of an agreement which has been signed by the employers' associations confebus, Anetra and Atuc for the request of early retirement from the administrations once a royal decree comes into force.
