Camposol fire remnants cleared by Mazarron Council
After a request by the Business Association, burnt remnants of green waste fire cleared by Council
The problem of green waste on the Camposol urbanisation was exacerbated on May 17 when the Fire brigade and Police were called out to a large fire which had taken hold in the garden waste deposit situated at the southern end of the B Sector car park. The fire was brought under control but a large amount of burnt debris and ash remained.
The B Sector volunteer gardening group “B Clean” made an immediate attempt to clear as much as possible but the sheer scale, burnt plastic bags and extra none green waste being dumped proved too much to cope with.
During ongoing meetings between Mazarrón Councillor for Camposol, Carmen Navarro and the Camposol Business Association (CBA), a request for assistance to clear the debris was made. A council representative attended one of the meetings and after assessing the situation arranged for the burnt debris and other rubbish to be cleared.
On Friday June 21, a council crew and street sweeper arrived on the scene and cleared the burnt residue and other waste.
