ARCHIVED - Car bursts into flames after colliding with palm tree in Mazarron
No one was injured in the collision near the roundabout in Mazarrón, Murcia
A traffic accident on the Alamillo roundabout in Mazarrón resulted in a car becoming engulfed in flames, though fortunately no one was hurt.
At around 5.15pm on Wednesday January 19, the 112 emergency services received several calls about a car accident in which a vehicle had crashed into a palm tree. Witnesses also reported that the car burst into flames upon impact.
The occupants of the vehicle weren’t seriously injured and were able to get out of their car without assistance from the emergency services.
Firefighters from the Firefighting and Rescue Consortium of the Region of Murcia, Guardia Civil officers and Policía Local officers were all dispatched to the scene. The fire brigade was able to extinguish the fire without any major damage to the palm tree or the surrounding area, although the car itself was badly charred.
