ARCHIVED - Covid boosters open to all ages without appointment in Murcia
From February 8, prior appointments will not be needed for second or third vaccines in the Region of Murcia
Anyone in the Region of Murcia over the age of five years requiring their second or third vaccines can do so without making an appointment as of Tuesday February 8. This was announced by the regional Health Minister, Juan José Pedreño, following a meeting of the Covid-19 Monitoring Committee on Monday, at which he also announced that indoor capacity restrictions will be lifted for all nightlife venues which request a Covid passport.
Given that both the number of daily infections and the incidence rate has been steadily declining, the minister also confirmed that he will be scrapping the alert system at both regional and municipal levels and that the experts are also considering removing the ban on using dance floors.
Last week, 42,000 first vaccine doses were administered in the Region, which means that 94.3% of the total population has received one jab. Despite this, there are still some 64,000 people unvaccinated in Murcia.
Starting from this Wednesday, a new mass vaccination centre will be established on the ground floor of the Myrtea shopping centre.
