Dismembered body of Belgian expat found floating off Tenerife
The 66-year-old’s body was found with a plastic bag over her head, and her legs and hand had been chopped off

The dismembered body found floating off the coast of Tenerife on Saturday April 27 has been identified as belonging to a 66-year-old Belgian woman who hadn’t been seen since at least April 24.
Her lifeless corpse was pulled from the water on a beach in the municipality of Arico, between the neighbourhoods of La Jaca and Las Listadas.
According to the preliminary postmortem, the victim suffered a very violent death; her body was found with a yellow plastic bag over her head, both legs and one hand were missing and she was in an advanced state of decomposition.
According to the SOS Desaparecidos association, which announced the disappearance of the woman last Friday, she was 1.65 metres tall, of normal build, had short grey hair and blue eyes. The disappearance of a 71-year-old man from Adeje was also called in on the same day.
Officers from the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Guardia Civil, together with the Territorial Team of the Judicial Police of the South of Tenerife, have been placed in charge of the investigation.
