ARCHIVED - Drunk woman tried to kiss Ryanair flight attendant before attacking police on flight from Spain
The passenger was travelling from Fuerteventura to Manchester when she became intoxicated and pinched an air steward’s bum
A 32-year-old woman has been hauled before the courts in the UK accused of sexually assaulting a flight attendant aboard a Ryanair flight from the Spanish island of Fuerteventura to Manchester.
Wigan Magistrates' Court heard this week that Jessica Horne became “loud” and caused “issues” for other passengers on the flight last March. Prosecutors told the judge that she consumed a large amount of alcohol and tried to kiss a male flight attendant, before pinching his bum. When her advances were rebuffed, she verbally abused the air steward, the court heard.
Ms Horne was travelling with her partner at the time.
As a result of her drunk and disorderly behaviour, two police officers were waiting on the tarmac when the plane touched down in Manchester. Ms Horne reportedly became very aggressive when the officers tried to arrest her and “kicked out”, injuring one of them.
The rowdy passenger has denied all charges of sexual assault and of using racially aggravated, threatening, abusive or insulting language but has pleaded guilty to being drunk on a flight and assaulting a staff member.
Ms Horne, from Briercliffe in Burnley will stand trial at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court on April 19.
